About the role

Based in the picturesque market town of Thirsk, we operate in a 9000 sq ft unit, combining our passion for road & race cars with the engineering of components to further enhance them. We design, develop and manufacture bespoke carbon fibre air intake systems completely in-house using advanced facilities. We seek an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our friendly and passionate team. The ideal candidate will have a passion and drive for the industry and possess excellent mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, independence and dedication to delivering a high-quality service. Candidates will mostly be working on BMWs and Audi models although prior experience of these manufacturers isn't required. Successful candidates will receive training for the role which will include engine building, timing chain replacements, general maintenance, and dyno operation.

Duties

  • Undertake a diverse range of interesting jobs including but not limited to general maintenance such as services and timing chains, performance installations & modifications, engine removal, full performance engine rebuilding & installation, suspension work and vehicle geometry setup including corner weighting
  • Diagnose vehicles using a range of in-house equipment
  • Communicate effectively with clients for the workshop
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness and organisation of the workshop
  • Operate the chassis dyno

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in the industry
  • Great attention to detail
  • Full UK Drivers License
  • A positive attitude and work ethic, with a high level of professionalism
  • Good ability to problem solve and work individually
  • Ability to communicate well with clients and communicate with parts suppliers

Desired but not essential

  • Engine building experience
  • BMW M/Alpina experience
  • Wiring/electrical diagram proficiency
  • Ability to MIG or TIG weld
  • Fabrication skills
  • Race prep
  • Machining experience on a manual or CNC Mill
  • Porsche or supercar manufacturer experience

£33,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
