Specialist, Trading Services
Responsibilities
- Cook up the preparation, execution, and post-trade reconciliation of security transactions for both model-driven strategies and account-specific activity.
- Act as an internal expert on trading technology, including Tamarac Trading & Execution and related custodian systems, to enhance workflow accuracy and usability.
- Collaborate with the trading lead to manage trading processes, adjust account parameters, and implement necessary restrictions and settings for proper order handling.
- Assist in implementing trades at the strategy level across various groups of accounts, ensuring alignment with portfolio objectives and client guidelines.
- Inspect daily alerts, exception reports, and account-level data to spot discrepancies and keep accurate records across multiple platforms.
- Handle inquiries from internal stakeholders, investigate trading or account issues, and propose practical solutions based on findings.
- Forge effective working relationships with portfolio managers and advisors to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient trade execution.
- Supply transaction data, blotter details, and holdings information to operations, compliance, and investment leadership as required for oversight and reporting.
- Contribute to trade analysis and execution documentation that supports investment committee reviews and broader portfolio governance.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in investment management, trading support, or a related financial services environment.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a comparable field.
- Familiarity with portfolio data concepts like performance results, attribution, holdings characteristics, and cash positioning.
- Experience with Tamarac, portfolio management technology, or custodian trading platforms is preferred.
- Solid analytical judgment to evaluate transactions, identify issues, and support informed decision-making.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the interpersonal ability to work effectively across teams.
- A high level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when managing trade activity and related reporting.
- Working knowledge of investment products such as equities, mutual funds, fixed income, and derivatives or options.
