Specialist, Tax & Cost Basis Operations

About the role

Join Cost Basis Operations (CBO), part of the Custody & Asset Services division of Operational Services. We lead a culture that delivers timely and accurate tax reporting to create a premier client experience while maintaining a controlled and disciplined environment where employees feel valued and engaged. This is a fast-paced working environment where effective communication and teamwork are essential. The selected candidate will work on-site in the specified location(s).

Responsibilities

• Research across multiple systems to verify transaction information
• Process cost basis adjustments for Retail and Advisor Services clients
• Process corrections in GainsKeeper, Schwab’s cost basis system
• Analyze large data sets to determine the cause of issues and their impacts upstream or downstream
• Rotate through different functions as business needs arise, requiring flexibility and adaptability

Requirements

• 2+ years’ experience in Operations
• Strict adherence to established policies and procedures
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining professionalism
• Strong decision-making and sound judgment skills
• Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to identify and communicate issues effectively and timely to peers and management
• Ability to multi-task and understand the importance of follow-through
• Outstanding time management and organization skills

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree
• Series 7/63 (preferred)
• Intermediate computer skills including Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Understanding of macro-based tools and ability to troubleshoot issues with them
• Proven tax and cost basis experience and knowledge framework
• Good foundation and understanding of financial markets and how individuals interact with them

Pay

This role is eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities in addition to the salary range.
