Tax & Cost Basis Operations is part of the Custody & Asset Services division of Operational Services. Responsibilities
- Research across multiple systems to ensure accuracy of the Tax Database
- Provide support to tax form production and reclassification of dividends
- Research and process Tax adjustments for Retail and Advisor Services clients
- Determine and apply appropriate tax withholding rates to client accounts for both foreign and domestic clients
- Analyze large data sets and determine the cause of issues and the impacts either upstream or downstream
- Work collaboratively and optimally with others
- Effectively leverage tools and resources
- Partner with internal business partners to ensure compliance with regulations
- Provide support to our internal business partners during peak volumes
- Provide in-office support by assisting with mailing corrected tax forms
- Provide vision, review and ownership for projects and productions
Required Qualifications
- Advanced MS Excel skills, ability to work with large data sets
- Proven tax and cost basis experience and knowledge framework
- 2+ years of experience in Operations or the financial services industry
- Knowledge of IRS regulations in relation to broker/dealer reporting
- Expertise in tax reporting topics, such as corporate actions, repapering of foreign clients, domestic and foreign withholding, etc
- 1+ years of experience in the tax and/or cost basis industry
- Highly motivated and results driven
- Demonstrates excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Very strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for service quality
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining the highest level of positivity and professionalism
- Identify and communicate issues effectively and timely to peers and management team
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred
- Series 7/63
