Responsibilities

• Responsible for the engineering ownership of SATCOM VSAT product lines. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• System level design and development, bill of material (BOM) documentation, and sustainment of existing terminals with the SATCOM product portfolio
• Custom system configuration and overall system integration development per customer and program requirements
• Design and Development of system level interconnect diagrams and cable assemblies
• Direct manufacturing support of product line issues and root cause analysis
• Customer support of technical issues on fielded systems and units
• Direct programs and product management support
• Ability to work with outside vendors to perform system level design and integration
• Ability to work within large cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, electrical, test engineering, etc) to achieve product line objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• Knowledge of and experience working with SATCOM VSAT systems, both End-to-End and single terminal side, RF networking and systems, wired networking, MIL-STD data links, and modems. Common modem types with preferred experience are iDirect, Comtech, Linkabit MPMs, and Viasat.
• SATCOM product development experience from initial conception through design release and support of manufacturing readiness.
• Experience with engineering support of proposal development, technical writing, and business/program acquisition process.
• Experience and familiarity with working directly with customers and vendors for development opportunities.
• Experience and in-depth knowledge of project management.
• Experience with government contracting and logistical support.
• Familiarity with RF budget analysis.
• Experience with and the ability to perform hands on SATCOM system level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Requires proficient knowledge of job area.
• May have practical knowledge of project management.

Pay

The salary range for this role in NY State is $80,500 - $149,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
