Responsibilities
- Responsible for the engineering ownership of SATCOM VSAT product lines. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- System level design and development, bill of material (BOM) documentation, and sustainment of existing terminals with the SATCOM product portfolio
- Custom system configuration and overall system integration development per customer and program requirements
- Design and Development of system level interconnect diagrams and cable assemblies
- Direct manufacturing support of product line issues and root cause analysis
- Customer support of technical issues on fielded systems and units
- Direct programs and product management support
- Ability to work with outside vendors to perform system level design and integration
- Ability to work within large cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, electrical, test engineering, etc) to achieve product line objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Knowledge of and experience working with SATCOM VSAT systems, both End-to-End and single terminal side, RF networking and systems, wired networking, MIL-STD data links, and modems. Common modem types with preferred experience are iDirect, Comtech, Linkabit MPMs, and Viasat.
- SATCOM product development experience from initial conception through design release and support of manufacturing readiness.
- Experience with engineering support of proposal development, technical writing, and business/program acquisition process.
- Experience and familiarity with working directly with customers and vendors for development opportunities.
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of project management.
- Experience with government contracting and logistical support.
- Familiarity with RF budget analysis.
- Experience with and the ability to perform hands on SATCOM system level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Requires proficient knowledge of job area.
- May have practical knowledge of project management.
Pay
The salary range for this role in NY State is $80,500 - $149,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
