Specialist, Senior Technical Training (Process SME)

About the role

The Senior Technical Training Specialist is a Process SME responsible for developing, delivering, and continuously improving training for Operations and Maintenance Plant/Pipeline/Storage customers, as well as other groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for new and existing Operations/Maintenance personnel in plant/field processes, equipment, and systems.
• Ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency of Enterprise Operations through training.
• Develop teaching props, simulations, and testing material to enhance training effectiveness.
• Research and collaborate with others to increase knowledge and develop new training material.
• Leverage external vendors and internal SMEs to deliver training classes to customers.
• Stay updated on industry changes and update training material accordingly.
• Field questions and provide assistance to others in the company as needed.
• Assist Supervisor/Manager and other Training Specialists with additional tasks as required.

Requirements

• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Plant/Field Process Operations with at least 5 years of process operations experience in the oil and gas industry, with midstream experience preferred.
• Able to travel up to 35% of the time, including some weekend and after-hours travel.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent, with some college or certificate preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to teach complex topics.
• Knowledge of midstream operations, facilities/equipment, and relevant regulations (OSHA, DOT, etc.).
• Proficiency in computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, databases), and the ability to learn new programs quickly.
• Ability to read and interpret facility drawings (P&IDs).
• Self-starter with strong coordination/organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some college or certificate preferred.
