Specialist - Obs & Gynae
About the Role
Privileges and scope of work will be defined by the coordinator and must be approved by the credentialing committee. Privileges and performance will be evaluated periodically. As a Specialist, you will work under the direct supervision and control of Consultants or a Coordinator appointed in the specialty area, either permanently or by rotation. Specialists are required to perform roster duties like Senior Registrars, supervised and assigned by the coordinator or Consultant.
You will not be permitted to practice in your specialty or any other specialty outside the hospital in any capacity. You will also not be allowed any attachment with other hospitals, nursing homes, or diagnostic centers of any kind.
You are responsible for maintaining discipline among subordinate staff and ensuring the quality of work. You will oversee the teaching activities of Residents and Registrars and must not act in any manner that could bring discredit to the Hospital or another Consultant colleague.
You will maintain a record of credential information in the prescribed format, including clinical and continuing medical education details, and submit these regularly to the DMS. You must comply with all credentialing requests made by the DMS and the credentials committee and inform the office of the DMS of any changes in your medical qualification, registration status, address, or contact information.
