Job Summary

The primary purpose is to improve student achievement in mathematics for all children by collaborating with teachers, specialists, administrators, and within the Office of Teaching and Learning to continuously improve mathematics instruction for grades kindergarten through five. This position supports Division-wide mathematics initiatives by providing professional learning through coaching and curriculum development and implementation. This position works under the director of the Supervisor of Mathematics and the Director of Student Learning.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers, specialists, administrators, and within the Office of Teaching and Learning to continuously improve mathematics instruction for grades kindergarten through five.
  • Provide professional learning through coaching and curriculum development and implementation.
  • Support Division-wide mathematics initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience in mathematics education at the elementary level.
  • Strong understanding of current educational research and best practices in mathematics education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, specialists, administrators, and within the Office of Teaching and Learning.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of state and national standards for mathematics education.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
