Title I Math - Elementary - 195 Day

About the role

The Title I Elementary Math Teacher supports Tier I and Tier II Math instruction aligned with Virginia Department of Education Instructional standards and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) effective math teaching practices. This position collaborates with school instructional staff and leadership to provide targeted mathematics support without supplanting existing staffing or roles within school district allocations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with school instructional staff and leadership to provide targeted mathematics support
• Support Tier I and Tier II Math instruction aligned with Virginia Department of Education Instructional standards and NCTM effective math teaching practices
• Unpack and understand standards, and task-standard alignment with Tier II
• Serve as a K-5 mathematics teacher, focusing on assisting teachers with differentiated instruction, data-driven decision-making, and coaching practices to accelerate student learning in accordance with Title I, Part A grant requirements, and PWCS policies

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education or related field
• Valid Virginia teaching license
• Experience with NCTM's effective math teaching practices
• Ability to work collaboratively with school instructional staff and leadership
• Strong understanding of Virginia Department of Education Instructional standards and NCTM effective math teaching practices
