About the role
This role is responsible for leading and delivering communications for executive programs and key technology initiatives. It involves developing and executing internal and external executive communications programs, engaging effectively with executive and broad stakeholder audiences, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and providing guidance and training to support consistent, high-quality communications across the team.
Responsibilities
- Develop executive messaging, presentations, talking points, leadership communications, and strategic technology narratives aligned to the overall technology strategy.
- Translate complex technology, business, and organizational topics into clear, compelling communications.
- Drive program leadership: Track critical actions, decisions, and commitments to ensure follow-through and completion in a timely manner.
- Build and manage a proactive executive editorial calendar that gives leadership a clear, forward-looking view of communication dates and materials.
- Develop high-quality external communications materials, including written articles, executive briefs, talking points, and other thought leadership content, that elevate Deloitte's eminence in the marketplace.
- Create scalable communications frameworks, templates, and best practices that enable effective planning, execution, review, and measurement of executive communications activities.
- Develop clear, concise, and action-oriented technology communications for Deloitte Technology-US (DT-US) that have broad impact across the US firms.
- Report out on communications metrics using dashboards.
- Create compelling content that promotes DT-US tools and services to targeted audiences and supports awareness, understanding, and adoption.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure technical information is accurate, relevant, and easy for end users to understand.
- Partner with product development and delivery teams to understand new features, enhancements, and updates, and translate them into effective end-user communications.
- Facilitate clear communication and alignment between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Communicate DT-US project timelines, milestones, and updates to appropriate stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Media and Communications leadership on communication and engagement strategies.
- Support technology crisis and incident communications, including escalating urgent technology matters to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teams across DT-US and ensure alignment with Deloitte marketing, branding, and internal communications guidance.
- Lead and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, balancing competing priorities while maintaining quality and timeliness.
- Respond to and follow up on requests and questions, connecting internal clients and colleagues with the appropriate resources as needed.
- Manage the development of key communications materials for internal clients, including writing, editing, and final review.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications, English, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
- 8+ years of relevant, progressively responsible experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively with senior executives.
- Ability to interact and communicate across a variety of stakeholder groups (technical subject matter specialists to business owners), with the ability to present complex information in an easily understandable format tailored to the audience.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint; Working knowledge of professional social media platforms (LinkedIn) and basic HTML; Familiarity with AI tools and effective prompt-writing techniques to support research, content development, and productivity.
- Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
