Responsibilities
- Own vehicle-level electrical and software integration, testing, execution, and release readiness across complete vehicle programs.
- Ensure all electrical and software systems deliver intended vehicle-level functional performance, focusing on vehicle bring-up, feature testing, timing performance, system robustness, drivability impact, and cross-domain interaction quality.
- Validate vehicle behavior under real-world conditions, including transient events, edge cases, environmental stress, and feature concurrency.
- Integrate all domain controllers and distributed ECUs into the vehicle E/E architecture.
- Own software integration and validation per vehicle software maturity, performance, and release gates; approve vehicle integration builds (per milestones).
- Ensure alignment to OEM-defined zonal or domain-based architectures.
- Validate network topology, gateway routing strategies, signal database integrity (DBC, ARXML), bandwidth utilization, and bus loading.
- Manage vehicle communication across CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet (100/1000BASE-T1), and FlexRay network frameworks.
- Validate and release bootloader compatibility, flashing strategy, partitioning strategy (AUTOSAR Classic/Adaptive), memory, and CPU utilization budgets.
- Coordinate integration across Powertrain/Electrification (BMS, inverter, charging), Body & Comfort, ADAS/AD compute platforms, Infotainment & Connectivity, and Central Compute/Zonal Controllers.
- Validate system behavior against system requirement specifications (SRS) under nominal conditions, boundary conditions, fault injection scenarios, high bus load scenarios, low voltage, and cold crank conditions.
- Own vehicle-level regression test planning, drive root cause analysis of cross-domain issues, and support integration war-room activities during DV/PV builds.
- Release and validate functional KPIs such as defect leakage rate, integration maturity index, build stability metrics, bus load margins, and SW flash success rate.
- Validate wake-up/sleep strategies across ECUs to prevent unintended current draw or parasitic drain; ensure correct power state transitions during vehicle power cycles, start/stop/sleep, and OTA updates/events.
- Validate UDS/DoIP response timing, ensure diagnostic sessions do not degrade functional performance, and confirm DTC accuracy and freeze frame integrity and robustness.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 4+ years of experience.
- Strong understanding of vehicle E/E architecture and ECU-level software stacks, automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet), UDS diagnostics (ISO 14229), and diagnostic communication tools.
- Expert knowledge of Jira, GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, and Artifactory/ALM/PLM.
- Proficiency in Siemens Polarion, IBM DOORS Next Gen, or PTC Windchill.
- Strong understanding, development, and verification of plant and control models in MATLAB/Simulink for execution in hardware-in-the-loop test environments, dSPACE Control Desk, and Automation Desk.
- Strong understanding of 1st principles in Engineering; result/solution-oriented.
- Familiarity with software for embedded systems, EE systems, and architecture.
- Familiarity with A2B, CAN, Automotive Ethernet, LIN, LVDS communication protocols and vehicle network tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, etc.
- Expertise in complex problem-solving, data analysis, and driving results with extended teams.
- Knowledge of automotive design and development processes, system requirements, and general engineering best practices.
Location & Travel
This role is based at Scout Motors' corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC, and requires 4-5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings and events are expected. Applicants should be prepared to travel occasionally to participate in company events.

Pay
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible for a base salary and participation in an annual performance bonus program. The initial base salary range is $110,000.00 - $135,000.00, determined based on skills and experience.
