About the Role

As an Investment Specialist, you will support the National Platforms team with the overall sales process, delivering extraordinary care to help individuals and businesses prepare for and protect their future. This role involves partnering with relationship managers, conducting investment and competitive analysis, and developing collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve sales objectives. You will serve as a technical consultant, maintain client lists, and develop business in compliance with all required rules and regulations.

This position is based on a SuccessFlex model, requiring the hired associate to reside within 35 miles of Columbus, Ohio (One Nationwide Plaza). The work schedule is 3 days in-office and 2 days remote. Occasional travel for in-person client updates is required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with relationship managers to provide quarterly and ad-hoc product updates to current and prospective clients.
  • Conduct investment and competitive analysis using Morningstar Direct and other tools.
  • Research new prospective clients utilizing company websites, Dakota, and other sources.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve sales objectives.
  • Participate in assigned national platform team projects.
  • Maintain client lists for use by the sales team and internal partners.
  • Develop and maintain product approval lists by client firm.
  • Serve as a technical consultant for other areas of the company, acting as a resource for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the sales process from start to finish, including lead generation, investment analysis, meeting scheduling, and client meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with key sales clients to meet or exceed sales goals, quotas, or targets.
  • Proactively schedule meetings with prospective and current clients for external sales partners.
  • Support the development of territory business plans to increase sales.
  • Analyze lead management outputs and communicate findings to internal constituents.
  • Develop and build a remote market strategy within the assigned territory, including virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Assist the sales team in identifying solutions for new business opportunities within existing product and administrative constraints.
  • Participate in assigned sales projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in the assigned area and collaborate with management to incorporate new developments.
  • Meet or exceed department, sales, and activity goals for the assigned territory.
  • Plan and execute marketing solutions within the assigned territory.
  • Serve as a resource to internal and external stakeholders for assigned areas of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate studies in business administration or a related field preferred.
  • Three years of related experience, including product plan administration, sales, customer service, sales consulting, relationship management, project management, communication, or marketing.
  • FINRA Series 6 must be in hand at the time of hire.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 required and must be obtained within 120 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFA, CAIA, or CIMA-licensed or progress toward obtaining one of these certifications.
  • Investment acumen, sales, and product management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and understanding of investment products, specifically mutual funds and ETFs.

Pay

The national salary range for this role is $71,000.00–$133,000.00. The expected starting salary range is $71,000.00–$107,000.00. Placement within this range will be determined by skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as market conditions. If applicable, sales incentives based on performance goals may be available in addition to this range.

Schedule

  • 3 days in-office and 2 days remote.
  • Occasional travel for in-person client updates.
  • Quarterly travel within the assigned territory.
