Job Summary
At LG Energy Solution Arizona, Inc., the Specialist II, Safety and Health will play a key role in supporting and enhancing environmental, health and safety (EHS) programs to promote a safe and compliant workplace.
Responsibilities
- Support and drive ISO certification efforts, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations and continuous improvement of EHS programs.
- Identify and mitigate workplace hazards across plant operations and administrative areas, including development and review of site-specific safety plans.
- Conduct daily line walks, audits, inspections, and spot checks to ensure compliance with EHS policies and identify at-risk behaviors or unsafe conditions.
- Participate in and support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
- Support equipment reviews, mechanical and ergonomic risk assessments, and ensure safe implementation of new processes and equipment.
- Assist in implementation and compliance of site-specific EHS programs, including LOTO, confined space, fall protection, and other regulatory programs.
- Conduct industrial hygiene (IH) sampling, safety inspections, and respirator fit testing, and support emergency response planning and procedures.
- Cook up with internal teams and external agencies (e.g., fire, EMS, regulatory bodies) to support site safety initiatives and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience supporting and improving EHS programs within a manufacturing environment.
- Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM preferred.
- Knowledge of NFPA and IFC standards, as well as applicable building and fire code requirements.
- Experience supporting ISO certification efforts and EHS compliance programs.
- Ability and willingness to cross-train across EHS functions to support team needs.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local EHS regulations.
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing processes and technologies, including automation, chemicals, and electrical systems.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate technical data, test results, and reports.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Positive, self-driven attitude with strong interpersonal skills and ability to achieve goals.
