The Human Resources Specialist will function as a HR subject matter expert on all people issues to ensure we attract, develop and retain the best talent and fuel the continued growth of the organization. The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for assisting operations personnel with compliance with CEMEX HR policies and procedures as well as terms and conditions of collective bargaining (union) agreements where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Identifies and tracks staffing needs of business and works proactively to fill them via internal and external hiring, succession planning, and retention practices
- Collaborates with operations management to maintain positive employee and labor relations including managing local grievance processes
- Manages the hiring process including creation of job descriptions, requisitions, recruiting, selection of candidates, preparation of offers of employment and conducts new hire orientations
- Ensures that candidate backgrounds, education, and references are verified before hiring decisions are made
- Conducts exit interview and monitors all activities related with departing employees
- Oversight responsibility for compliance to company rules & policies and government regulations
- Investigates employee complaints and
