Specialist- Fund Operations (Private Equity)
About the role
The Associate will conduct accounting services on behalf of assigned clients and moderately complex funds, including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports. They will perform complex Fund/Client Accounting responsibilities in driving Service Improvement plans, targeting efficiencies, enhancing processes, and specialist review functions. They will provide input into methodologies and review the work of more junior team members. They will guide and review work related to cash and asset reconciliations for complex accounts or transactions, resolving reconciliation issues for atypical transactions. They will draft and review reports for clients regarding the performance of complex funds. They will regularly interact with clients to answer questions and resolve issues regarding fund reports and accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Determine net asset values and calculate fund performance
- Allocate expenses and prepare reports
- Drive Service Improvement plans, target efficiencies, enhance processes, and review specialist work
- Provide input into methodologies and review junior team members' work
- Guide and review cash and asset reconciliations for complex accounts or transactions, resolve reconciliation issues for atypical transactions
- Draft and review reports for clients regarding the performance of complex funds
- Interact with clients to answer questions and resolve issues regarding fund reports and accounting processes
- Evaluate GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine the impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of total work experience preferred
- Ability to provide guidance to less experienced team members
- May have people management responsibilities in some geographies
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS

Pay
The expected base salary for this position when employment commences can be found in the Job Info section at the bottom of the posting. Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Schedule
The Associate is expected to work 4 days in the office.
