Mutual Funds Trading Operations, Specialist

The Clearing Mutual Fund Operations team is a cross-functional team that handles multiple functions within Mutual Fund Operations, including trading, dividends, reconciliation, transfer of accounts, sub-accounting, and vendor relationships.
Individuals in this role must maintain strong working relationships with external Clearing Correspondents, Mutual Fund Companies, Transfer Agents, and internal business partners. A successful candidate will be adaptable to change and work collaboratively with cross-location business partners.
Responsibilities
- Research and resolve balances between Schwab, Mutual Fund companies, and Clearing Correspondents using various systems related to trades, transfers, and dividends.
- Accurately process manual activity and adjustments under strict time constraints.
- Effectively meet multiple deadlines throughout the day and prioritize risk-related items.
- Monitor and work with various external industry partners to process trade uploads, rejects, dividend payments, and reconciliation.
- Work closely with transfer agents and fund accounting to perform daily operations such as trading, dividends, and/or wire settlement.
- Perform various cash and stock reconciliations and analyze and resolve complex breaks.
Requirements
- Strong customer service skills developed in a professional business setting.
- Able to stay positive under pressure and maintain accuracy when handling large workloads within tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical, research, data entry, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to understand and mitigate risk.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Minimum of 6 months back-office operations handling Mutual Funds.
- Preferred: At least 6 months in back-office operations.
- Preferred: Complex problem-solving skills.
- Preferred: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Preferred: Proven experience collaborating across business units.
- Preferred: Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Preferred: BA or BS degree.
- Preferred: Desire to pursue Series 7 & 63.
