PURPOSE

The Specialist, Facilities Engineering (Electrical) is responsible for planning, inspecting, maintaining, and improving electrical systems, utilities, and facility equipment within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role provides technical support for production and facility operations by ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure and equipment. The position also supports continuous improvement, energy optimization, preventive maintenance, and compliance with applicable electrical and safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, design, coordinate, and support installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and power distribution infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and facility-related issues, analyze downtime and energy consumption data, and implement corrective actions and improvements.
  • Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs and support spare parts management for critical electrical equipment.
  • Design and coordinate electrical upgrades, replacement projects, and new equipment installations.
  • Ensure contractor work complies with electrical codes, safety regulations, and internal quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and reliability initiatives through implementation of new technologies and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, documentation, and presentations to support operational and maintenance teams.
  • Career development and training opportunities provided.
  • Coordinate projects and work requests with contractors, maintenance teams, and operational departments.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and operational management systems and regulations.
  • Support additional engineering, operational, and on-call responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 0–10 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, heavy industry, or high-volume production environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and OSHA electrical standards and regulations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical understanding of electrical distribution systems and industrial equipment.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, off-shift support, and on-call assignments when required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, facility utilities, and maintenance practices
  • Knowledge of energy management and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience managing contractors and external vendors.
  • Experience with MS Project.
  • Experience using SAP systems.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Willingness to travel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Work is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.

FLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE

  • Location: Montgomery
  • Schedule: Day shift, 40h/w, weekend as required
  • Travel: Domestic and occasional international travel may be required
  • Overtime: as required
  • Assignment Start: ASAP
