Specialist, Digital Prepress

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Preflight and prepare files for digital output.
• Produce accurate proofs and develop imposition layouts to meet printing specifications.
• Cook up color management of files with digital output devices.
• Preflight, layout, and prepare content for customer Web-to-Print catalogs.
• Provide strong customer service to internal and client stakeholders.
• Stay knowledgeable of industry trends, new ideas, and technologies.
• Adhere to legal requirements relating to duplication, printing, software, and fonts.
• Adhere to production schedules and deadlines.
• Reviews proofs and works with operators on the production of printed material.
• Work with VDP (Variable Data Printing) tools and techniques.
• Perform asset management and manage document libraries.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Typically Required QUALIFICATIONS

• 4-year college degree (Design) preferred or other related coursework/certificates or equivalent years of related work experience.
• Expertise with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft products in Mac and PC platforms.
• Proven preflight, design and layout abilities.
• A minimum of three years of related job experience in print production.
• Knowledgeable about preflight, design, and imposition skills.
• Ability to use desktop publishing tools, specifically Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Suite.
• Must be able to work in a team environment by maintaining positive, productive relationships with co-workers, management, sales, and production departments.
• Must be able to adapt to changing situations and be flexible.
• Must be able to perform repetitive work by continuously executing different tasks according to set procedures, sequence, or pace while maintaining quality and output standards.
• Attention to detail.
• Creativity and flexibility.

WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
• Requires internal contact within the department and with other corporate personnel, and external contact with customers, agencies, vendors, etc. and General Public.
• New alternatives may be developed to resolve the problem.
• Physical effort is required, such as walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects could weigh up to 50 lbs (e.g., papers, books, files, and small parts, etc.).
• Requires moderate dexterity regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, and eye/hand coordination).
