About the role
L3Harris is seeking a Mechanical Designer to support RTS Systems in Yorba Linda, CA. The position is part of a Mechanical Engineering team responsible for the development, integration, fielding, and operational support of flight test instrumentation systems used to track and collect data from missile flights.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and related design documentation.
- Prepare drawing packages and related documentation for design reviews.
- Use Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD to support mechanical and electro-mechanical design activities.
- Carefully coordinate directly with engineering and product development teams to ensure documentation accuracy, quality, and completeness.
- Ensure design documentation complies with customer, military, and internal requirements.
- Support the development, integration, fielding, and operational support of flight test instrumentation systems.
- Maintain a professional, cooperative work environment with customers, coworkers, and management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 4 years prior experience; OR 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 8 years prior experience; OR Graduate Degree with 2 years of prior related experience; OR 8 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Active U.S. Secret Clearance required.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to about 10%.
Qualifications
- Experience with creating engineering drawings and design documentation.
- Experience with ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD or similar CAD tools.
- Experience with Autodesk Vault or similar PDM software.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Pay
The salary range for this role in California is $79,000.00 - $147,00.00. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
Schedule
4/10: Employees work 10 hour days, 4 days a week with every Friday off.
