Specialist, Cash Application

About the role

Researches, identifies and allocates all payments and ensures that all cash is posted and distributed accurately and within required time frames under conformity to the applicable internal controls and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Post all payments and denials received from lock box into the system, balance daily cash receipts against lock box total, and submit to the Reimbursement Manager for approval.
• Complete the daily Cash Reconciliation and make all entries into KIS.
• Run all A/R reports necessary for month‑end reporting, including reviewing the Cash Reconciliation and KIS entries.
• Generate reports as needed or requested for the Reimbursement Manager.
• Recognize and report any bad debt, billing, or collection issues immediately upon discovery.
• Recognize and report any payer/insurance or patient issues that could impact accounts receivable.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Qualifications

• Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (e.g., opening workbooks, inserting rows, formatting cells as currency, using copy/paste, aligning text, renaming worksheets, inserting columns, setting margins, page orientation, spell check, printing).
• Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (e.g., opening documents, cutting/pasting text, formatting fonts, adjusting margins and columns, sorting, inserting bullets/pictures/dates, find and replace, undo, spell check, track changes, review pane, printing).
• Preferred: Previous infusion reimbursement or intake/admissions experience.

Pay

Salary determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market data. Pay range: $17.02 – $28.38 per hour.
