About the role
The AR Specialist II oversees assigned customer accounts, resolves accounts receivable issues, strengthens customer relationships, and supports the accounts receivable process.
Responsibilities
- Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting
- Perform reconciliation of payments and customer accounts
- Review and record bank deposits, communicate discrepancies, identify slow-paying customers, and recommend collection candidates
- Maintain customer relationships by monitoring and communicating past-due accounts receivable
- Research shipping documentation, invoices, credit memos, customer statements, and draft notifications
- Prepare, review, and monitor aging reports and perform analytical analyses
- Support other accounting and finance team members, assist in cross-training, and assist with monthly account closing functions
- Process customer credits and perform in-depth research
- Daily support with Sales team, Divisions, and monthly account closing functions
- Interact with internal and external customers to resolve outstanding account receivable issues
- Identify areas for performance improvement in the accounts receivable process
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Associate degree and equivalent business/office experience
- Two or more years of AR and Customer Service experience
- Proficiency within Accounts Receivable module of at least one of the commonly used accounting ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Net Suite)
- Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
- Proficiency in MS Office 365 applications, with an emphasis on MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Skilled in time management and detail orientation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision to meet internal and external customer satisfaction goals
