Special Refuse Collector, (A262515-5), 203, Recycling

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Retrieves dead animal carcass from public right of way and places in garbage truck or special vehicle provided for this purpose.
• Operates garbage truck and hydraulic systems on vehicle.
• Works with dispatcher and supervisor when scheduling pick-ups as they are called in from the public.
• Auxiliary with trash collection and routes doing special pick-ups for monthly reports.
• Maintains equipment by doing preventive maintenance checks and reporting needed repairs to supervisor.
• Auxiliary with other crews in collecting refuse or operating equipment as required.

• Effectively communicates both orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
• Complies with all City of Laredo's policies and procedures.
• Maintains good health and physical condition sufficient to permit the full performance of the duties of this position.
