About the role
To improve student achievement by assisting a licensed teacher in the planning and implementation of an educational program, including individualized education programs (IEPs).
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs in both general and bilingual education settings.
- Support students in achieving academic goals through individualized instruction and interventions.
- Work closely with licensed teachers to develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
- Provide support in creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional strategies and knowledge of special education practices.
Requirements
- Bilingual Assessment Required
- Must be able to speak, read, and write Spanish and English fluently.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Oregon teaching license or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.
Skills
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices.
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Pay
$24.03 - $30.65 per hour
Schedule
7 hours per day, 188 days per year
