About the role

To improve student achievement by assisting a licensed teacher in the planning and implementation of an educational program, including individualized education programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs in both general and bilingual education settings.
  • Support students in achieving academic goals through individualized instruction and interventions.
  • Work closely with licensed teachers to develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
  • Provide support in creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance instructional strategies and knowledge of special education practices.

Requirements

  • Bilingual Assessment Required
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write Spanish and English fluently.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Oregon teaching license or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.

Skills

  • Knowledge of special education principles and practices.
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

$24.03 - $30.65 per hour

Schedule

7 hours per day, 188 days per year
