Special Programs Instructional Assistants are needed to support licensed teachers in improving student achievement through the planning and implementation of educational programs.

About the role

Assigned educational programs may include both general and special education settings. The role involves assisting with the development and execution of individualized education programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs
  • Support the teaching staff in creating and implementing IEPs
  • Work collaboratively with students, teachers, and families to support learning objectives
  • Provide additional support as directed by the assigned teacher

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Oregon driver's license
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with diverse student populations

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of special education principles and practices
  • Experience working in a school setting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
