Special Programs Instructional Assistant, 2026-27 - Sprague
Special Programs Instructional Assistants are needed to support licensed teachers in improving student achievement through the planning and implementation of educational programs, including IEPs.
About the role
Assigned educational programs may include both general and special education settings. This role supports the educational goals set by licensed teachers and helps ensure that students receive the necessary support to meet their academic needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of educational plans tailored to individual student needs
- Support the licensed teacher in creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to provide comprehensive support to students
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
Qualifications
- Experience working with students with special needs is preferred
- Valid Oregon driver's license and reliable transportation are required
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
