Library Specialist / Special Programs Instructional Assistant, 2026-27 -Sprague
PURPOSE
The Library Specialist plays a vital role in fostering a dynamic learning environment for students by facilitating library classes, collaborating with teachers to support the curriculum, and conducting library-related presentations and events.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate library classes and collaborate with teachers to support the curriculum.
- Conduct library-related presentations and events.
- Manage library materials and inventory management.
- Maintain the physical library space to ensure a welcoming and organized atmosphere.
- Provide reference assistance to students and staff.
Special Programs Instructional Assistant
To improve student achievement by assisting a licensed teacher in the planning and implementation of an educational program, including individualized education programs (IEPs). Assigned educational programs may include both general and special education settings.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with children and/or adults.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Oregon driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Schedule
- Library Specialist: 188 days per school calendar year, Hourly Range: $22.88 - $29.20, Start Date: August 27, 2026
- Special Programs Instructional Assistant: 188 days per school calendar year, Hourly Range: $24.03 - $30.65, Start Date: September 3, 2026
Pay
- Library Specialist: Hourly Range: $22.88 - $29.20
- Special Programs Instructional Assistant: Hourly Range: $24.03 - $30.65
