Special Programs Admissions Advisor
The College of Staten Island (CSI) is a City University of New York (CUNY) senior College organized around two academic divisions and three schools, with over 10,000 students. CSI offers a broad range of academic programs in the liberal arts and sciences, and in several professional areas. The College awards associate's, bachelor's, master's, and clinical doctoral degrees, and in collaboration with The CUNY Graduate Center, numerous Ph.D. degrees. CSI's internationally recognized faculty passionately engage in scholarly and artistic activities, and together with a strong professional staff, lead students through transformational learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom.
About the role
Reporting to the Associate Director of Enrollment Management and Special Programs, the Special Programs Admissions Advisor will serve as a primary contact and enrollment advisor for new students, including Reconnect students, providing guidance and support throughout the enrollment process.
Responsibilities
- Monitors enrollment data and student engagement patterns to support outreach efforts and enrollment activities.
- Conducts outreach to community-based organizations and prospective students to support recruitment efforts, develop community connections, and follow up with prospective applicants regarding enrollment opportunities.
- Attends and participates in off-campus recruitment events (e.g., college fairs, presentations, and school visits) at high schools, colleges, community-based organizations, and other locations for undergraduate (freshmen and transfers) admissions. Must be available for a varied and occasionally rigorous schedule of day, evening, and weekend events, as well as occasional travel.
- Assists in conducting open house and information sessions, including group sessions and programs for prospective adult students, giving campus tours, virtual presentations, and other admissions events.
- Assists in planning and conducting adult orientations and new and continuing student engagement activities.
- Supports office processes, procedures, and general clerical duties such as front desk and virtual office coverage, data entry, recruitment calendar, inventory (recruitment supplies), and application processing.
This program is funded for one year and is subject to renewal.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Two years’ related experience in a higher education setting, preferably in recruitment, advising, financial aid, or a related field.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills as well as strong multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours, including occasional evening and/or weekend shifts for office coverage or College events.
- Driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

Pay
$59,444. Salaries will be adjusted by 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
This is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and in the office.
