About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Procedures Technologist PRN at St. David's Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all procedures performed in the Interventional Suite.
- Demonstrate proficiency with all equipment within the Interventional Suite procedure room.
- Prepare patient and room for exams while managing wires and other multiple components required for procedure.
- Perform role of circulator during procedure including: pull supplies, alter technique as phase of exam requires, man and operate injector, communicate to patient/family/unit progress, and answer physician calls/pages during procedure.
- Provide patient care throughout procedure while explaining the procedure to patient and ensure understanding.
- Ensure patient safety throughout exam.
- Adhere to Standard Precautions or Isolation precautions appropriate for patient.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or graduate from an accredited Radiological Technology Program (ARRT).
- 2-years Radiology Tech experience in an acute setting.
- 1-2 years’ experience as an Interventional Technologist.
- Licensed Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with the Texas Medical Board.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Primary certification in Radiography - ARRT (R) or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
