Special Procedures Technologist - Cath Lab

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with Cardiac and Vascular radiographic examinations, including interventional procedures in the cardiovascular lab.
• Operate advanced imaging equipment to produce digital images as ordered by physicians.
• Position and instruct patients, assist with specialized studies, and ensure proper patient preparation.
• Support physicians during procedures such as catheterizations, angiograms, and interventions like plaque removal or vessel ballooning.
• Monitor patient responses and vital signs, alerting physicians to changes, and provide clear explanations and discharge instructions to patients.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure environmental safety standards are met.

Qualifications & Skills

• Radiologic Technologist (RT) license in the state of practice; BLS certification required.
• Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or related experience.
• Experience in Cath Lab or Special Procedures is advantageous.
• Certifications such as ARRT are preferred but not mandatory.

• Operate diagnostic and interventional imaging equipment, assist physicians during complex cardiovascular procedures, ensure patient safety and comfort, and maintain thorough documentation to support diagnostic and treatment processes.
