Special Needs Inclusion Coordinator

About the role

As the Special Needs Inclusion Coordinator for Offutt AFB’s Child & Youth Programs, you will lead the effort to serve children from six weeks to 18 years with medical, educational, and other identified needs. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing inclusion and behavior support processes, coaching staff on best practices, and fostering a setting where every child can thrive. This role allows you to make a profound and lasting impact by mentoring professionals, championing inclusive practices, and building collaborative partnerships to support the families who serve our nation.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of CYP inclusion and behavior support processes.
• Provide ongoing educational opportunities for CYP Professionals and DoD personnel/families regarding inclusion, inclusive practices, and behavior support practices.
• Conduct needs and non-clinical assessments.
• Maintain awareness of and provide information and referral to early intervention and other services within military and surrounding area programs.
• Conduct functional behavioral assessments and collaborate with a team to develop, implement, and monitor Inclusion or Behavior Support Plans (ISP/BSP).

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship.
• A degree in either early childhood or child development is required.

Qualifications

• Professional knowledge of the principles, theories, concepts, and practices of early childhood development, youth development, childcare regulations encompassing infant through school-age, youth and teens, and child and youth development theories, methodology, and practices.
• Professional knowledge of early intervention, special education, early childhood inclusion, and evidence-based and trauma-informed practices that support inclusive environments related to birth to 18-year-olds.
• Skill in the practice-based coaching model, facilitating training with adult learners, providing feedback, and adjusting training pace and activities to meet diverse learning needs.
• Professional experience in observation and assessment methods and implementation science.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

Pay

Salary Range is $75,425 - $98,058 based on experience.
