ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (ADOT)Driving the future of transportation with a diverse and innovative team Job Summary:Under the general supervision of the Special Investigator Supervisor, performs statewide, national, and international investigations of highly complex nature involving multiple criminal offenses, working with a high degree of independence. Reviews allegations, complaints or other information to determine criminal offenses that may have been committed. Conducts investigations, including but not limited to; theft, fraud, embezzlement, forgery, conspiracy, fraudulent schemes, political corruption, etc. Confers with prosecuting attorneys regarding progress of investigations, quality of case files and evidence, drafts subpoenas, warrants, etc. Prepares affidavits to obtain search warrants, arrest warrants, wiretaps, physical characteristic court orders. Background check and In-state travel is required. This position may be available for remote work within Arizona (Three (3) days per week in the office/hoteling). Job Duties:Reviewing information and documents; analyzing data, planning case strategy, maintaining case files and evidence; preparing case reports. Interviewing victims, witnesses and suspects on the phone or in person. Travel as required, including state, interstate and international that may require overnight stay. Engage in undercover investigation operations, conducting surveillance of case suspects, investigative activity with other local, state and federal agencies. Preparing and serving search warrants; conducting searches; seizing and securing evidence. Serving arrest warrants; physically arresting suspects and booking suspects into jail. Pre-Employment Requirements:Arizona Peace Officer Standards & Training (AZPOST) Full Authority certifications.Weapons certified in accordance with AZPOST standards and obtain the CVSA certification within 6 months of hire.Individuals who have served honorably as a peace officer in Arizona and their certification has lapsed, or served in another State may be eligible to gain Arizona POST certification through Waiver Testing.PAT is required for Waiver Testing.Valid Driver's License.Minimum of 3 yrs in investigative or detective unit. This position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job, and the following requirements apply. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operates a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) R2-10-207.11). All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).
