Special Inspector, ICC-Certified, CWI
About the role
Kleinfelder's Construction Materials Engineering and Testing team is seeking ICC Special Inspectors/CWI to join our Southern California team. We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field to verify conformance to construction plans and specifications.
- Prepare daily reports and data sheets.
- May be called upon to perform various tasks at the discretion of their supervisor.
Requirements
- Strong initiative and ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to use a computer and have a general knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and photo management software.
- Must be able to pass a background check and/or Live Scan fingerprinting based on specific project requirements.
- Must be willing to travel throughout Southern California.

- Demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to learn and grow with technological demands pertaining to daily field reports and field data.
- Desired certifications include Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) certifications (Concrete, DIA, Welding, Fireproofing), Firestop, and Los Angeles County ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade I.

Pay
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Scale Disclosure Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Hourly range: $30.39 - $50.72.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have own vehicle, a valid driver's license, a clean driving record is required, as well as documented receipt of a Covid vaccine, and current flu shot.
Skills
- Must have the following certifications or experience:
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector
- ICC Certifications
- Desired certifications include Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) certifications (Concrete, DIA, Welding, Fireproofing), Firestop, and Los Angeles County ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade I.
