About the role
Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, is seeking a Special Inspector to join our growing team in the Bay Area. We provide construction inspection and material testing services to a broad range of local and national clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine to complex inspection and testing of construction materials in the field, verifying conformance to construction plans and specifications.
- Prepare daily reports and data sheets.
- Interact daily with owner and contractor teams to inspect active work projects.
- May be called upon to perform various tasks to meet client project goals.
Requirements
- Minimum Certifications: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I, Radiation Safety & Nuclear Density Gauge Operation Training, ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector, ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector.
- Additional Consideration: ICC Prestressed Concrete Special Inspector, ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector, ICC Structural Welding Special Inspector, ICC Spray Applied Fireproofing Special Inspector, ICC Soils Special Inspector, PCI Level II or III AWS Certified Welding Inspector, NDT Level II in UT, NDT Level II in MT, NDT Level II in PT, TWIC card.
- Must be able to use a computer and have a general knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook software.
- Own vehicle, valid driver's license, and clean driving record required.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Bay Area of California.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Skills
- Strong initiative.
- Ability to use computer and MS Office.
- Knowledge of construction inspection and material testing.
- Experience with various certification requirements.
- Ability to travel and work in the Bay Area.

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Scale Disclosure Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
