About the role
The Special Imaging Supervisor oversees the delivery and quality of imaging services. They ensure timely, accurate, and cost-efficient exams and patient preparation. They comply with System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures. They perform procedures as needed and ensure enough staff, supplies, and resources are available for exams and services.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the delivery and quality of imaging services.
- Ensures timely, accurate, and cost-efficient exams and patient preparation.
- Complies with System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
- Performs procedures as needed due to workload or complexity.
- Schedules, monitors, evaluates, and adjusts staffing to meet needs.
- Interviews, counsels, and completes performance evaluations.
- Trains new staff and ensures all registrations and certifications are current.
- Pairs with the management team and staff.
- Counsels staff in multidisciplinary staff meetings for consistent and timely communication.
- Facilitates goal setting for staff in imaging sections.
- Maintains goals and achievements.
- Encourages participation in Employee Satisfaction and Patient Safety surveys.
- Provides service feedback results to staff.
- Initiates a plan for improvement.
- Pairs with Management to develop a department budget.
- Communicates and implements targets that help Department and System priorities.
- Affirms compliance with JCAHO, TDH standards, and other accrediting bodies.
- Identifies patient service needs using AIDET when talking to patients.
- Ensures the correct exam is performed on the correct patient.
- Establishes personal rapport with potential and actual patients and others who know about the service needs.
- Coordinates and runs groups on patient safety, customer service, performance improvement, and environment of care.
- Focuses on Employee Engagement, Physician Engagement, Quality Improvement, and Inter-Departmental Relations.
- Participates in mutual governance, department, hospital, or professional organizations and committees.
- Involves QC assurance with radiologists.
Qualifications
- Grad of an Accredited Program
- 3yr of relevant MRI experience
- 2yr of current leadership experience
- Experience with Cardiac Studies
- Experience with Brainlab cases is a plus
- BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer
- American Reg MRI Tech (ARMRIT), ARRT-MR Magnetic Res Imaging (ARRT-MR), ARRT-R Radiography (ARRT-R): Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT(MR) or Radiography ARRT(R) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist (ARMRIT)
