About the role

Set up and operate a wide range of grinding equipment. Grinding equipment and operations vary from simple to complex for the manufacture of ceramic and carbide cutting tips to precision tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret router, blueprints, planning sheets, sketches and related technical data to determine requirements, fixture set-up procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
• Write programs and trouble shoot existing programs.
• Load control media in machine controller or enter commands to retrieve programmed instructions form the database.
• Calulate and set machine controls.
• Mount, align and secure tooling, attachments and work piece.
• Select and install grinding wheels.
• Dress wheel.
• Start up machine and monitor display.
• Verify dimensions of finished work piece.
• Work with and instruct other employees as required.
• Comply with all safety, quality, work rules and regulations.
• Other duties may be assigned.
