Special Equipment Operator

About the role

The primary responsibility will be to operate Patriot sprayers 3250, or mixer trailers quickdraw systems, and other farm machinery. He will also perform general fieldwork related to our operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate all tractors and equipment safely and effectively.
• Participation in training, workshops and staff meetings related to farm operations.
• Knowledge of sprayer blueprints, how the sprayers operate and the tools, and relevant equipment.
• Awareness of sprayer surroundings to prevent accidents.
• Knowledge of farm locations, field ID numbers and maps.
• Perform under stress and pressure, balancing workload while performing multiple tasks.
• Understand and report problems accurately to a supervisor or a mechanic.
• Understand and follow spray orders and herbicide functions.
• Work in and around hot environments and handle chemicals.
• Knowledge of processes and procedures in farming.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in farming.
• Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques.
• Control operations of equipment.
• Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure proper machine operation.
• Determine causes of operating errors and decide on corrective actions.
• Give full attention to what others are saying, take time to understand points, ask questions, and not interrupt at inappropriate times.
• Select necessary tools and equipment for a job.
• Adjust controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.
