Special Education Transportation: Van Driver

About the role

The driver, along with the van monitor, is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting students with special needs to and from school.

Responsibilities

• Patience, strong communication, and attention to detail are essential to ensure the well-being of passengers who may have diverse physical, cognitive, behavioral, or medical needs.

Qualifications

• A valid Driver's License
• A clean driving record
• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is typically preferred
• Proper Maine DOE certification and background check required for all positions
