About the role
The Special Education Team Leader will oversee the special education programs and services within the district, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. This position will also be responsible for coordinating with other departments to provide comprehensive support to students with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the implementation and administration of special education programs and services
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to special education
- Coordinate with other departments to provide comprehensive support to students with disabilities
- Develop and implement strategies to improve educational outcomes for students with disabilities
- Collaborate with families and other professionals to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide professional development opportunities for special education teachers and staff
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services
- Monitor and report on the progress of students receiving special education services
- Participate in meetings and committees related to special education
Requirements
- A master's degree in special education or related field
- Valid Massachusetts teaching license with endorsement in special education
- At least three years of experience working with students with disabilities
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
- Experience with data analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of assistive technology and accommodations

Pay
$60,000 - $65,000 annually
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
