Special Education Teacher (SPED)

About the role

Responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with special educational needs, implementing individualized education plans, collaborating with teachers and parents to support student progress.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with special needs
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student learning
• Provide small group and one-on-one instruction tailored to each student’s needs
• Evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
• Participate in team meetings and professional development activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid teaching license in Special Education
• Experience working with students with special needs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations
• Experience using assistive technology and accommodations
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

Skills

• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with data analysis and reporting tools

Pay

Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
