About the role

The Social Emotional Learning Program (SELP) is seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our Middle School team for the 2026/2027 school year. The program focuses on social and emotional learning through evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities

  • Implement SELP curriculum aligned with state standards
  • Provide individualized instruction to students with special needs
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and mental health professionals to support student success
  • Evaluate student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly

Requirements

  • CT Certification (if applicable)
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Experience working with students with social and emotional challenges
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students and families

Qualifications

  • Passion for social and emotional learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
