Special Education Teacher, SLS/Autism K-5 - $2,631 per week
Description
Special Education Teacher for a Mod/Severe SLS/Autism Center-Based program serving K-5 students with ASD, requiring at least 1 year of experience working with children on the autism spectrum.
Elementary school setting within a self-contained SLS/Autism Center-Based program
Serves K-5 students with autism or ASD-related needs, including non-verbal students
Caseload of approximately 10 students
Responsible for managing and training 5-6 paraprofessionals in the classroom
Utilizes AAC devices and visual supports as part of instruction
Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
40 hours per week
Requirements
- Special education teaching experience required, including writing IEPs
- Minimum 1 year of experience serving children with ASD required
- SLS (Specialized Learning Supports) experience required
- Strong preference for candidates with experience working with non-verbal students and managing paraprofessional staff
- Licenses required if applicable
About the Role
Provides specialized instruction to students with autism and moderate-to-severe disabilities in a center-based classroom
Develops, implements, and manages individualized IEPs
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required within the first 90 days of assignment
