Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver instruction for academic classes, electives, and institutes based on the goals of students' IEPs
  • Report on student progress and student grades in a timely fashion
  • Participate in daily staff meetings and weekly teacher meetings
  • Create a collaborative classroom
  • Participate in Open House events (2 per year)

Requirements

  • The Ideal Candidate:
    • Able to individualize instruction for students at many different levels
    • Has a solid background in special education
    • Able to plan creative, challenging, and engaging curriculum
    • Creative, flexible, and able to relate to challenging students
    • Maintains high expectations for students
    • Has the drive to plan and lead a variety of activities and field trips
    • Holds a Master's Degree, M.Ed preferred
    • License/Certification: Master's Degree, M.Ed preferred Special Education Certification: Moderate disabilities 5-12 (or proof of working toward certification)

    Qualifications

    • Has a valid Massachusetts Teacher's License in Moderate Disabilities (5-12)
    • Passes CORI and Federal Fingerprint checks before employment

    Pay

    $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
