Position Overview
Dragonfly Cares is seeking a credentialed Special Education Teacher to provide individualized in-home instruction to children with autism and developmental disabilities. This role is ideal for a dedicated educator who is passionate about reaching diverse families and bridging language barriers to deliver exceptional care in the home and community.
What You'll Do
- Deliver individualized academic and behavioral instruction in clients' homes using evidence-based, culturally responsive practices
- Provide services ensuring effective communication with families
- Design and implement personalized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to each child's goals
- Conduct Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) sessions to empower caregivers
- Collect, monitor, and analyze client progress data; adjust interventions to maximize outcomes
- Collaborate with clinical directors, parents, caregivers, and school teams for coordinated, culturally sensitive care
- Maintain accurate, detailed records including session notes, progress reports, and intervention logs
- Stay current with advancements in special education, ABA research, and evidence-based practices
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (required)
- Valid New York State Certified Special Education Teacher certification (SWD)
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Proficiency in data collection, progress monitoring, and IEP goal implementation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in home-based settings and as part of a collaborative team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering Parent Counseling and Training (PCT) sessions
- Experience implementing in-home Behavior Intervention Services (BIS)
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or BCBA coursework
- Familiarity with ABA-based therapy platforms and electronic data collection tools
- Fluency in additional languages beyond English and Spanish

Location and Type of Service: ONSITE IN HOME SERVICES AND PARENT COUNSELING AND TRAINING
Schedule: Part-Time, Flexible Scheduling, Monday through Friday (Mornings/afternoons/Evenings available)
Start Date: Immediate Opening
