Special Education Teacher - Minnesota Connections Academy

Position Summary and Responsibilities

The Special Education Teacher will deliver specially designed instruction to students with special needs, participating in all steps of the IEP process. They will work closely with other teachers and special education professionals to ensure the school's special education program is successful and compliant with federal and state regulations. The role involves managing instructional programs, developing and implementing IEPs, monitoring student progress, communicating with the IEP team, providing direct services, and coordinating related service providers.

Requirements

• Degree in Special Education or related Education Field
• Valid Minnesota PK-12 Special Education certificate
• Successful background checks or clearances, including the Child Abuse History Clearance
• Experience in policy (IDEA) and/or administration with Special Education
• Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office products and Google Suite)
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Highly organized and punctual
• Customer-centric
• High degree of flexibility and agility
• Willingness to travel for marketing, state testing, and other school events (occasional overnight travel may be required)
