Special Education Teacher - Manitowoc
Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to special education students in grades K–12. The Special Education Teacher is committed to collaborative team participation in planning and implementing student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff.

- Elementary School – Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher (EBD Focus)
- Elementary School – Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher (ID Focus)
Minimum Requirements
- Wisconsin DPI Special Education License required
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred
- State Teacher Certification – Special Education preferred
- Cross Categorical Special Education certification preferred
- Experience working with students with Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (EBD) and/or Intellectual Disabilities (ID) preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR certification, if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable
- Current health certificate, if required by contract or state regulation
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student success
