Key Responsibilities
- Oversee students as they work individually through their online core academic curriculum, providing structure, accountability, and academic support as needed
- Help students stay organized, engaged, accountable, and on track with individualized academic programming
- Help develop and deliver executive functioning lessons, life skills lessons, projects, and practical learning activities
- Support executive functioning skills, including organization, planning, task initiation, time management, and follow-through
- Maintain a calm, structured learning environment with clear expectations and predictable routines
- Support movement and physical education activities as part of the school day
- Use online curriculum platforms and educational technology as part of the instructional model
- Build positive, professional relationships with students and families
- Communicate student progress, strengths, and needs clearly and professionally
- Collaborate with the School Director and support staff to adapt routines, learning plans, executive functioning supports, and student supports as needed
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience teaching or academically supporting middle and/or high school students
- Experience supporting students with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, autism spectrum profiles, learning differences, IEPs, 504 plans, or similar learning support needs
- Comfortable supporting students across multiple academic subjects at a generalist level
- Comfortable overseeing students as they work through online curriculum platforms
- Interested in helping develop and teach executive functioning skills, life skills lessons, projects and practical learning activities
- Calm, structured, flexible, organized, and student-centered
- Strong communicator with students, families, and colleagues
- Current or prior teaching license from North Carolina or another state preferred
- Special education, Exceptional Children/EC, intervention, tutoring, or learning support experience preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $65,000–$90,000, based on experience, credentials, and role scope
