About the role

New Haven Public Schools seeks a Teacher-Special Education (Bilingual preferred) to join our dedicated team. The position is available for the 26-27 School Year with a salary range of $53,220 - $108,047.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and administrators to develop and implement effective educational plans.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding special education services.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a Special Education certification as required by Connecticut State Statutes.
  • Bilingual proficiency is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities is beneficial.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • At least one year of teaching experience in special education.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws regarding special education.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
