Special Education Teacher - Junior High

About the role

Tulia Junior High School seeks a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching students with diverse needs and a commitment to creating inclusive learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective lessons that meet the individualized educational plans (IEPs) of students.
• Collaborate with special education teachers, general education teachers, and parents to develop and implement IEPs.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction as needed to ensure academic success.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of special education best practices.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.
• A valid teaching certificate in Special Education.
• At least two years of successful teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
• Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other educators and support staff.
• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.

Skills

• Proficiency in using assistive technology to support students' learning.
• Experience with differentiated instruction and accommodations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $45,000 to $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
