About the role

MSAD #41 Special Education Teacher- MSAD 41, serving the communities of Milo, Brownville, and LaGrange, is seeking an experienced and energetic Special Education Teacher for our students at Brownville Elementary School in Brownville.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
• Provide differentiated instruction tailored to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Implement and manage behavioral and de-escalation strategies to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Develop and maintain developmental social skills programs for students.
• Ensure that all students receive appropriate accommodations and modifications as outlined in their IEPs.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Requirements

• A 282 certification is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with special needs.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of IEPs, differentiated instruction, behavioral and de-escalation strategies, developmental social skills, accommodations, modifications, and all aspects of special education.

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in using technology to support student learning.
