Responsibilities
- Preparing lessons toward mastery of the state standards and the IEP's
- Collaborating with other faculty
- Small group instruction
- Differentiating instruction and providing interventions
- Working with administrators and coaches to improve performance
- Monitoring students
- Developing and managing IEP's
- Holding IEP meetings
- Collaborating and communicating with parents and other stakeholders
- Developing and administering assessments
Requirements
- An active TN teaching license with the proper endorsement for the applicable grades
Qualifications
- Experience in special education teaching at the middle school level
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
Skills
- Knowledge of state educational standards
- Ability to differentiate instruction
- Proficiency in assessment development and administration
